There are many fans of the pioneer of free-jazz, Ornette Coleman. After their wake a few albums in their name have been recorded already. But it's been a long time since the conflicting chords of this enhancing music were heard in a recording studio. The drummer Todd Bishop puts on alert his compatible collaborators, to enter itself in the dark of the melodies of Coleman. Like good fans of the king of free jazz, the components of Todd Bishop's Group, elegantly interpret the various issues that make this album, dubbed "Little Played Little Bird." The interpretation of free-jazz sometimes creates controversy, nevertheless in this recording its executants combine different woodwind instruments, giving it a symphonic and variable touch. Richard Cole performs on bass clarinet, and baritone, soprano and tenor saxophones. Tim Willcox, also plays tenor and soprano saxes. Bill Athens on bass, and the drummer is the group's leader, Todd Bishop. Cuesta to recommend an album of this capricious style of jazz, but I would say that the lovers of the genre and followers of Ornette Coleman will find in Little Played Little Bird a very good source of inspiration. The entertainment is assured.
