"Secular Breathing" ersch?pft sich aber nicht als Showcase f�r die zahlreichen, hervorragenden Solisten. Moderne Big Band ist mehr � Jim Knapp komponiert kontrapunktische Gewebe, klangfarbenfrohe Orchestrierungen und legt darunter dynamische Rhythmus-Fundamente, teilweise mit wechselnden Takt-Verh?ltnissen � man f�hlt sich an die Zusammenarbeit von Peter Erskine und Vince Mendoza in den sp?ten achtziger Jahren erinnert.

Pr?sentierte damals Denon die postmodern abgekl?rte Big Band als Referenzaufnahme zum Test der eigenen CD-Player, kann das Jim Knapp Orchestra heute gerne als Beispiel herangezogen werden f�r Big Band Sound am Beginn des neuen Jahrhunderts: Ein Sound, der zukunftsf?hig ist und dabei doch auch das Publikum der althergebrachten Big Band anspricht. Definitiv h?renswert.
