Through the release of 2023's Discovery and tours of the Midwest and New York, trumpeter Eric Jacobson's rapport with his quintet of NY pianist Bruce Barth and the Chicago-based saxophonist Geof Bradfield, bassist Dennis Carroll and drummer George Fludas has melded into a thriving ensemble performing on the highest levels. His eight original compositions provide the perfect vehicle for Jacobson's warmth-under-fire playing and the band's emotive presence, each perpetually on the verge of ascending even higher.
