Sonando is able to incorporate both the idioms of Latin jazz and the subtlety and grace that's fast becoming the hallmark of the Northwest jazz scene.
Adam Greenberg

With their third release, Sonando continues their unique approach to combining the elements of Afro-Cuban Music with Modern Jazz. Teaming with Bay Area percussionist/producer Michael Spiro, the octet presents an impressive assortment of interpretations of Cuban & Jazz classics by Ignacio Piñeiro, Arsenio Rodriguez, Wayne Shorter, Horace Silver & Abdullah Ibrahim, as well as several originals. Sonando draws Latin music and jazz fans together with their fluidly shifting rhythmic explorations, engaging arrangements and soaring improvisations.
