**** (4-Stars)

Bobby Broom is one of today?s Top guitarists in the world of Jazz music and with his Upper West Side Story; he comes as trio with 9
terrific tracks. All of them are original, but none of them will become a Jazz Standard. However that really doesn?t change a lot to
the fact that the songs are great and full of energy. "D?s Blues" is a typical Hard Bop track. Title track "Upper West Side Story? comes
with some Latin influences and Fambrosicous is homage to Charles Fambrough the late Jazz bassist that became famous for his work
with Art Blakey?s The Jazz Messengers. The latter reaches its height when Broom start?s to improvise.

Upper West Side Story will not become the Jazz classic that will be remembered forever but it is the first offering from Bobby Broom
of an all original album. Broom who usually brings you cover versions en own interpretations of other people?s music gives away his
own tunes on this a nice alum to discover for everyone who is deep into the sound of Jazz Music. Recommended.
