John Gunther plays soprano and tenor saxes, flute, bass clarinet and electronics on this pastel'd trio session with Dawn Clement/p-key-el-voc and Dru Heller/dr. Gunther employs Clement's cirrus voice in a number of the pieces as an extra texture of gentility, as his soprano blends with her around Heller's cymbals on "Mother Juggler" while his tenor is a great foil on the hazy "Two Steps Forward". Clement's piano is lovely in her accompaniment on "Ron Song" while she adds to the woodwinds on "Painting The Dream". Gunther muscles up into a Sonny Rollins mood on a flexing "Blues For Dru" and veers around the electronic noodles of "Bubbles" as his bass clarinet veers over the rustling support of "Elliptical Motion". Sounds on a canvas.
