Bassist Jon Hamar teams together with pianist Adrienne Fontenot for a collection of gentle and tender sonatas. There is a nine part "Musica Callada" which translates to "quiet music", and there's truth in advertising, as Hamar mostly bows with elegance around Fontenot's Chopinesque touch on the beautiful "Angelico", dark "Lento" and lovely "Lent". Songs composed by the bassist include some rich pizzicato work on "Mosaic", a glorious solo on John Clayton's "Back To Blues" and rich conversations on David P. Jones' "Winter Crows". The sound of quietude.
