Motives

"Wellstone Conspiracy" sounds like West Coast Groove with Bret Jensen, altoist, Bill Anschell, piano, Jeff Johnson, bass and John Bishop, drumks.

We heard this band about 4 years ago at the Red Lion in Sacramento, and we were obviously impressed. Jensen and Anschell are so very r-e-a-l.

The name Wellstone Conspiracy seems unfolding as the music of an ongoing text, a truth to be revealed later, if ever, as a parallax view, a pondering fate climb the high wire to abstract spontaneity.

This whole unfolding has a Lord Buckley's jive to it, a.k.a, Lennie Bruce hip school- tell it like you should school. Dig the music in Bill Anschell's and Bret Jensen's fait accompli.

Then walk away, as your internal acoustic inner yearns, for Sam Spade is waiting in a "Bye Bye Blackbird" modality
