Kansas City-based guitarist William Flynn received funding through the fund in January 2017 "Escape to Create" the opportunity to retreat to the coast of for a month Florida. In a relaxed environment he could disconnect from his teaching position at Wichita State University and from all other day-to-day concerns. The target of this isolation was to focus entirely on the creative process and the al to convert existing musical ideas into a number of compositions for a new one album. For Flynn it resulted in ten nice own songs that, back in Kansas City, later recorded by him with a quartet line-up. It delivered nice inspired modern jazz in a post bop style with the clear sound of Flynn's guitar playing, in which we sometimes find something of Grant Green.

In a pair pieces, that sound is enriched with the voice of guest singer Emily Merrill. Especially in "30 A" this produces a nice result that is followed by a nice bowed bass solo by Copeland. Although most of the pieces are performed in medium tempo opens the disc with the fast "Follow The Leader". An incentive that excellent accompanists turn out not to be necessary and of which pianist in particular Wilder delivers some nice solos.
