Earning his stripes as Freddie Cole's guitarist for years, Randy Napoleon has been building up a catalogue featuring his warm strings in a variety of context. He returns to the songbook of Greg Hill, but this time bringing in a slew of fellow six stringers to add depth and delight. Luke Sittard, Chris Minami, Jocelyn Gould and Ben Turner form a formidable front line for Rick Roe/p, Rodney Whitaker/b, Quincy Davis/dr and a VW Van full of cameo guests on this creative and charming outing.
Napoleon and Gould get featured on the lovely strut of "Super Moon" with Minami pretty as pie with Roe on "Waking Dream". The strings bop till they drop along with bassist Langston Kitchen on "The Singer" with Napoleon adding sunshine to the droplets of stringed dew on "Riverside Blossoms". The guitars create a formidable frame on the impressionistic "Two Thoughts" while the flood gates open for the guns to go shooting on the hard hitting "Boom Boom". Nothing to fret about here!
