...a very special and original project...wonderful music.
A virtuoso of Indian and Brazilian-Portuguese descent, New York City guitarist Bobby Rozario is a third-generation musician, mentored by his parents in Hindustani Classical music while thoroughly pursuing the sounds of jazz and blues. His blazing, idiosyncratic style interprets melodic lines of Raagas and blends them into captivating lines injected with Afro-Latin and jazz/rock/fusion vocabulary. His two albums to date are vast communal affairs, with numerous world-class musicians and singers each bringing their own soaring musical statements, creating joyful, sonically stunning sets of music. Healer is no different. Focused on the theme of healing and the spirit of oneness, they channel their diverse backgrounds and experiences to create melodies and grooves that deeply resonate with unity and hope.
"...stellar contributions from a totally amazing cast...Heavy Latin and Afro-Latin rhythms will keep your ears, your feet and your heart fully engaged..." Contemporary Fusion Review

If you were a teenager when Santana's Amigos or Europa came out in 1976, Bobby Rozario's Healer will strike a deeply familiar chord, the same surge of energy, the same feverish Latin pulse that once set the air on fire. But here, there's something else woven into the fabric, a dose of jazz fusion, a whisper of African soul. Rozario's sound is shape ...
Jazz Weekly (George W Harris)
Guitarist/vocalist Bobby Rozario comes across like a musical metaphysician on this album of sonic spiritual themes. The music would be described as "world", but the message is "spirit" as Rozario seems to have imbibed the guitar style and passion of Carlos Santana and melded it with his own street preaching. He brings in a roster of vocalists to c ...
Making A Scene (Dee Dee McNeil)
A jazz/blues guitar opens this production. It saturates my listening room with a blues ‘riff.' Then voices enter, chanting the title of this album, "Healer." Bobby Rozario plays guitar, timbales and is the lead singer on this tune. He is of Indian and Brazilian-Portuguese descent, as well as a third-generation musician. This is his second alb ...
