Vocalist and pianist Delia Fischer takes the tried and true sounds of Brazilian bossa nova and adds a tincture of modernity with some electrical workings by the likes of Antonio Fischer-Band, Matias Correa, Sacha Amback and Rodrio Campello to her mix and match collection of percussion, strings and woodwinds. Her clear and luminous voice glides over a synthy pulse on "A Little Samba" and is cozy with the plugged in sounds framing "My Time". She gives a Middle Eastern exotic atmosphere to "The Acupuncture Song" while "Workaholic" has an electronic soul, with some funky grooves under her enunciations on "Marketplace". The strings and woodwinds on "What Good Is Summer" harken to vintage moods created back in the days of Claus Ogerman, with some modern R&B hip hop bouncing around on "My Voice In Your Head". A fresh Brazilian breeze.
