Jazz pianist Keigo Hirakawa, currently residing in Dayton in America, will release his new album "Pixel" on June 16th. The recording took place in August 2022 at Big Sky Recordings in Ann Arbor, Michigan, featuring Hirakawa (piano) along with a quintet lineup consisting of Rafael Statin (sax), Brandon Scott Coleman (guitar), Robert Hurst (bass), and Alex White (drums). Coleman, who served as the producer, contributed one track, and all other compositions on the album are originals by Keigo Hirakawa. Additionally, drummer Gene Jackson, who has collaborated with Hirakawa in the past, provided the liner notes.

At the age of 11, Hirakawa moved to the United States and studied under Danilo Perez at the New England Conservatory of Music. After graduating, he continued his live performances primarily in Ohio. He has a history of performing with Donald Byrd, Joe Lovano, and others, and has previously released three leader albums, including this latest release.
