Copenhagen based Morten Lund, is considered one of Europe´s absolute top jazz drummers on the scene today. His unique organic creative - and highly swinging drumming style can heard on hundreds of recordings with a wide list of top names.

Morten Lund, born in 1972 in Viborg Denmark, grew up in a highly musical family. "My father had a drumset in the house when I was born, and already as a 4 year old I discovered the joy of drumming". "I took my first lessons from when I was around 9 years old and never looked back"

The first 10 years of study was focused on classical percussion studies, but eventually Morten chose the drumset as his main instrument and was mentored by drum legends Alex Riel and Ed Thigpen.

Morten was accepted at the Royal Academy of Music in Denmark in 1993, and from there on things moved fast.

Morten is mainly known as a prolific sideman in many notable ensembles. he co-leads a trio with Italian piano sensation Stefano Bollani and long time bass collaborator Jesper Bodilsen. He is a member of Danish singer Sinne Eeg´s quartet as well as touring member of Iiro Rantala Standards Trio.

In 2006 Morten received the prestigious Ben Webster Award.
