Pianist and composer Roy Mor is established as a fresh and distinct voice in the international jazz scene, known for a style that "remains firmly rooted in the jazz tradition while cutting seamlessly across many moods" (La Repubblica). Based in Tel Aviv after a formative period in New York City, Mor's playing is defined by a lyricism that draws as deeply from the melodies of the Middle East as it does from the American jazz piano lineage.

Mor's debut album as a leader, After the Real Thing (Ubuntu Music, 2021), garnered widespread critical acclaim, with BBC Music Magazine awarding it 5 stars and describing him as "an elegant and sparkling improviser." The album, which features a cast of New York's finest musicians, showcased (among other themes) Mor's ability to reimagine Israeli cultural touchstones through a contemporary jazz lens—a conceptual approach that he continues to expand in The Addis Ken Project.

In recent years, Mor has performed on stages worldwide, from the Red Sea Jazz Festival to venues in New York City, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Panama, and Canada. He has collaborated with a diverse range of artists including Francisco Mela, Tyshawn Sorey, Amos Hoffman, and Avishai Cohen (trumpet). Mor tours with the Roy Mor Group, performing original music and reimagined standards, alongside a solo piano project and a new studio album in the making. As the co-leader of The Addis Ken Project, Mor serves as the group's musical director, weaving his harmonic vocabulary into the ancient Ethiopian repertoire to create the quartet's signature sound.
